Collaborative Mural Design time-lapse
A hearty Thank You goes out to the students of MIAD for an injection of color and inspiration into our Print and Publishing Lab. The success of this event means there will definitely be more of such artistic gatherings at Discovery World in the near future. We have a few concepts in mind but would love to hear your suggestions! (diy@discoveryworld.org)
We have a blank wall in our Print and Publishing lab at Discovery World. One day while surrounded by print medium of every kind we decided this was a crime, and thus was born a plan to paint, draw, print, spray, paste, glue, and utterly transform this blank space into a vehicle of open expression.
Friday, January 29th from 6-11pm we will open our doors to the good students of MIAD for an evening of art, music, food, and all the fun that comes with taking on a wall. Bring your designs and we’ll use the laser cutters to make stencils or burn screens for vertical screen printing. There are very few limitations to what can be done (no adhering things that were once alive, et cetera), and the more diverse a creation the better. This will be up for a while so lets make it good!
A student ID gets you and your guest(s) in. The entire technology building will be open for the evening which includes the Milwaukee Muscle, Techno Jungle, and Les Paul exhibit areas, so expect more than merely (muraly?) printing/painting/designing all night.
Send any questions/comments/suggestions to diy@discoveryworld.org

Circuit Bending is electronics recycling at it’s finest: reuse and re-invention. Part of Discovery World’s Adult Creative DIY series, we practiced the art of rewiring and short-circuiting a device to create chaos instruments from old and discarded toys.
